John T. Parisella, Sr., a forty-five year resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Yonkers, entered into rest Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Hudson Valley Hospice House in Hyde Park. He was 87.

Son of the late Theodore and Antoinette Lombardi Parisella, he was born September 15, 1937 in Yonkers.  John proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1957. He retired in 1995 as an Assistant Battalion Chief after serving thirty-three years with the Yonkers Fire Department. John enjoyed hunting and was a life member of the Whortlekill Rod and Gun Club and the Ti Yogi Archery Club.

On February 18, 1978, he married the former Regina Scarafino at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. Mrs. Parisella survives at home.

John leaves behind his wife of forty-six years, Regina; his four children, Anne Marie Falcone, Michele Ulland and her husband, Paul, John Parisella, Jr. and his wife, Jill, and Diane Parisella; his step-daughter, Lynn O’Dell; his sister, Ann Kennedy and her husband, Richard; his 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Gregory in 1986; his brother, Ernest in 2020; and his son-in-law, John Falcone in 2022.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, November 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 15 at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road in Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction.
