On December 13, 2024, Patricia M. Messina, 94, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Patricia was born on January 28, 1930, in Boston Massachusetts. On May 19, 1951, she married Charles Messina. Charles predeceased her on September 21, 2022.

She was also predeceased by her parents, John and Elisa Joyce and her brother John.

Survivors include her 7 children, 17 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  It would be an understatement to say that she could not get enough of her grand and great-grandchildren

Patricia devoted much of her life to the Pro Life Movement, pouring herself out both in prayer and action as a warrior for the protection of unborn babies. She was a daily communicant at St. Mary’s and St. Martin’s and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.  She also followed the Carmelite way, which included adoration, rosary, brown scapular and daily office.

The family will receive visitors at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at St Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
