Joseph DiGiorgio Obituary

Joseph DiGiorgio, a 50 year resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Manhattan, entered into rest Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was 88.


Son of the late Joseph and Angelina (Valenzano) DiGiorgio, he was born on September 17, 1936 in New York City. He married Elizabeth Tamburri on November 1, 1959 in the Bronx; Mrs. DiGiorgio survives at home.


Mr. DiGiorgio served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1956-1958. After he was honorably discharged, Joseph was employed by Vassar Brothers Hospital and later, Xerox. He ultimately retired as an office manager for Kennecott Copper in New York City. 


In addition to his wife Elizabeth, survivors include his sons, Joseph DiGiorgio (Kathleen) of Hopewell Junction and David DiGiorgio (Lisa) of Wappingers Falls; grandson, Michael DiGiorgio; brothers, Nick and John DiGiorgio; and sister Anna Marie Hoffman.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Peter DiGiorgio.
