Obituary of Laura M. Taylor

Laura M. Taylor of Chester and a former longtime resident of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, January 20, 2025. She was 75.

Daughter of the late Edward and Dolores (Rochelle) Morley, she was born on April 1, 1949 in Manhattan. She married Thomas P. Taylor on November 14, 1970 at Our Lady of Grace Church in the Bronx. Mr. Taylor preceded her in death, passing on January 17, 2011.

 

Laura worked as a school bus driver for many years for the Wappingers Central School District until her retirement in 2014. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and dancing; she was a true music lover. She was also an avid sports fan. Most of all, she loved her family. Laura truly lived for her beloved grandkids.

 

Survivors include her sons, Michael Taylor of Chester, NY and Steven Taylor (Evelina) of Huntington, NY; her twin sister, Linda Cossa (Vinny); grandchildren, Alexandra, Cole and Reese; and nieces and nephews.

 

Family will receive their friends on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Laura’s name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, www.t2t.org.
