Obituary of Eric Clausen

Eric Clausen of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Fort Myers, Florida entered into rest Thursday, June 9, 2016 at home after a brief illness. He was 52. Son of Louis and Barbara Erhard Clausen, he was born on July 13, 1963 in Poughkeepsie. Eric graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1981. He worked for many years as a carpenter for TPI Aluminum in Fort Myers, Florida. He enjoyed his work and was a true craftsman in his trade. In his spare time, Eric enjoyed fishing; he would fish any chance he had. Survivors include his companion and mother of his daughter, Denise Whiteley of Fort Myers, FL; his daughter, Kayla Clausen (Jayson Drouillard) of Fort Myers, FL; brothers, David Clausen of Wappingers Falls and Aaron Clausen of Clintondale; sister, Amy Greiner (Harold) of Marlboro; grandchildren, Angel, Jayson, Louis and Emily Ann; and several nieces. Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A memorial service will be held immediately following visitation at 5 p.m. at the funeral home; Reverend Chris Boyd will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eric's name to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
