Obituary of Joan M. Johnson

Joan M. Johnson, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Sunday, September 4, 2016 at her home. She was 62. Daughter of the late Anthony and Genevieve Martini, she was born December 28, 1953 in the Bronx. Joanie worked as a Senior Claims Manager for CareCore National. Her life revolved around her family, friends and especially her children. A loving and giving person, she always wanted to do everything for everyone else. Everyone who knew her loved her. Her family takes comfort that she will live on forever in their memories. Survivors include her children, Cristina Foutz and her husband, John of Poughkeepsie, Steven DeSario of Wappingers Falls, Jacob and Gage Johnson of Montgomery; her brother, Richard Martini and his wife, Maryann of Fishkill; her nephews, Daryl Martini and his wife, Nicole, and Kenny Martini and his wife, Stella; several great-nieces and a great-nephew; and the "light of her life" her granddaughter, Elliana Foutz. She was predeceased by her loving husband, William "Troy" Johnson on September 17, 2015. Family will receive their friends on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 10 at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, in Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9 in Fishkill. The family is so thankful for the support of all Joanie's friends over the course of the past few years, as well as Deacon Enrico and Fr. Bob from St. Denis Church.
