Obituary of Beverly K. Gilbert

Beverly K. Gilbert, a resident of Wappingers Falls, died Saturday, September 17, 2016. She was 83. She was born at her grandmother's home on March 11, 1933 in Peekskill to the late Kay and Donald Presher. She worked at the VA Hospital in Montrose for 37 years, retiring as Chief of Medical Administration. She always believed veterans should receive the best of care. After her retirement, she became chairman of the Peekskill Chapter of the N.A.R.F.E. Beverly was the matriarch of a very large family and was second to none with strength, leadership, advice, listening, providing, caring, giving and love. Her time with us here is gone but she will always be in everyone's hearts and will be called upon forever. This wonderful woman will be missed by everyone she touched with her tremendous heart and love! She is survived by her sons, Michael and wife, Barb and Daniel and wife, Jennifer; sisters, Lily, Gerri, Trudy; her grandchildren, Monica, Michelle, Erika, Jessica, Corinne, Matthew, Eugene and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert and son Patrick. Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
