Obituary of Ursula Jacobsohn Schink
Ursula Jacobsohn Schink, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 87.
Daughter of the late Ernst Nathan and Gretchen Hening Jacobsohn, she was born October 16, 1929 in Hamburg, Germany. She survived the Holocaust and Nazi Germany to immigrate to the United States in 1956. She was proud to become an American Citizen.
Ursula had several interests including traveling, gardening, cooking, and she loved to read books. Her passion was sewing and was known for her designed and hand sewn clothes for antique dolls made with antique fabrics and materials. She was also an avid doll collector and belonged to the Sleepy Hollow Doll Club. Ursula was selfless in her consideration for others. She loved her children, grandchildren and many, many friends.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Schink of Poughkeepsie, Stephan Schink and his wife, Peggy of Poughkeepsie and Eric Schink and his wife, Pamela of Hidden Meadows, California; her grandchildren, Bryson and Ciaran; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Carla Peters, Kurt Jacobsohn, Ruth Jacobsohn and Ingrid Bratek.
