Obituary of William Arnhold

On April 27, 2017, William "Bill" Arnhold passed away peacefully in his sleep after a valiant fight. Bill was born in the Bronx on April 13, 1931 to the late William and Elizabeth Meshke Arnhold. One of the gentlest of souls and the funniest, Bill, is survived by his beloved bride of 66 years, Dolores. He is also survived by his children Karen (Frank) Falanga, Barbara (Russell) Roberti, and William "Bill" (Lisa) Arnhold. His grandchildren include Victoria Lusk Harris and Alexandra Lusk, Marina, Russell (Jennifer) and Michael Roberti, Amanda (Anthony) Munderville, Ashley (Alfonse) Perrone, and William Arnhold, Jr. Bill also proudly had five great-grandchildren, William, Anastasia, Olivia, Peyton and Aaliyah. Bill graduated from Samuel Gompers High School and worked managing Smith El-Disco for 42 years. His greatest joys in life besides his wife, Dolores and family, was his dog, Sophie, a good joke, working in his garden, country music and reading. A celebration of his life will take place on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be offered at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 1 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Kensico Cemetery, Lakeview Avenue in Valhalla. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill's name may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
