Obituary of Peggy Ann Hammond

Peggy (Brickner) Hammond passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on April 22, 1942 in Beacon to Margaret Hughes and William Brickner. Peggy was a graduate of Beacon High School in Beacon. On September 17, 1960, she married William Hammond at St. John's Church in Beacon. Peggy is survived by her children, Susan Hammond of Chelsea and Lisa Hammond of Chelsea; her grandchildren, Taylor and Tracie Hammond of Mesa, Arizona, William, Wesley and Chelcie Hammond of New Mexico; her siblings, Carole (Anthony) Mandia of Clintondale, Thomas (Judy) Brickner of Chelsea, David (Kim) Brickner of Franklin, Vermont, Denise (George) LaValle of Fishkill and Paul (Eileen) Brickner of Stoneridge; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lenora in 2004 and her brother, William in 2005. Peggy was a devoted grandmother and often spent summers enjoying her grandchildren in Arizona. Her green thumb and love of flowers was apparent in the beautiful gardens surrounding her home. Peg was quick to laugh and with a kind heart shared that laughter with others. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
