Obituary of Anastasia Jubinsky

Anastasia "Nancy" Jubinsky, a resident of Hyde Park, entered into rest Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 90. Daughter of the late Maxsim and Irene Kowalczyk Demanovich, she was born December 16, 1927 in Forest City, Pennsylvania. Prior to her retirement, she had worked in human resources with IBM in Poughkeepsie. Together with her husband, she was a founding member of St. Gregory the Theologian Orthodox Church in Wappingers Falls and they have been devoted members since. She enjoyed sewing and was known as a great cook. Survivors include her husband of sixty-six years, Paul Jubinsky; her three children, Joanie Webb and husband, Doug, Paul Jubinsky and wife, Mary, and James Jubinsky; her brother, Max Demanovich; her grandchildren, Stacey and Jeffrey Webb; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Peter, George, Lucas and Samuel; and sisters, Anne and Irene. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Gregory the Theologian Orthodox Church, 1500 Route 376 in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 18 at the church. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue in Poughkeepsie. Memorial donations may be made to the SAS Foundation or IARCR Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
