Obituary of Rudolph Thompson

Rudolph Thompson, Jr., 45 of Poughkeepsie passed away suddenly on January 12, 2018. He was born January 12, 1973 in Hammonton, NJ. He is survived by his wife Lynnette Thompson and two step-sons, Nicholas Reid and Justin Reid, of Poughkeepsie. In addition, he is survived by his father Rudolph Thompson, Sr., and step-mother Jamie Thompson of New Jersey. Other survivors include his children David Thompson and wife Dixie and granddaughter Marlei, Rudolph W. Thompson, III, Evan Matthew Thompson, Reid Daniel Thompson, Liam Thompson, Julia Thompson, all of New Jersey, Gionna Rodriquez and Ava Thompson of Wingdale, NY; brothers Bobby Lerner, Shawn Dorr, Chris Thompson and a sister, Anna Dorr all of New Jersey. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and the most amazing friends a man could ask for. He is also survived by a woman who was precious to him, Jessica Westcott, who he affectionately called "Ma" or "Ma Westcott" whom he always said was his mother. Rudy was a graphic designer/screen printer and recently started his own company, InkWorx. Rudy was passionate about hardcore music, which he wrote and performed as a front man with his band Albatross. He was also a staunch supporter and advocate for the Change Your Thinking Change Your Life Foundation. Rudy loved to draw and write lyrics from his heart. He was hoping to someday begin tattooing. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. Family and friends will continue celebrating Rudy's life on Thursday, January 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
