Obituary of Charlotte A. Visentin

Charlotte A. Visentin, a life-long resident of the Village of Wappingers Falls, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the home her father built for her and her late beloved husband Thomas John Visentin. Charlotte was born November 4, 1933 to John C. O'Rourke and Regina O'Rourke, née Cheetham, who were themselves life-long residents of the Village. She graduated from St. Mary's School and Wappingers High School, where she met her future husband Thomas; they married in 1955. Charlotte was employed at IBM and later at Wappingers Central School's Media Library, where she worked for 20 years. Charlotte led a full life: she traveled with her husband throughout the world; she collected antiques, and enjoyed attending the local antique club; she volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels for many years, and was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church; she loved going out to lunch with her friends, cheering on the Marist Women's basketball team with her sister and niece, and attending productions at the County Players Theatre in the Village of Wappingers Falls. Most of all, Charlotte loved and was loved by her family, and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren. Charlotte is survived by her son Thomas, his wife Maren, and their son Christopher; her son John; her daughter Anita, her husband James Perito, and their children Katrina, Noah, and Elena; her niece Jeanne Bradshaw and her family; and her sister-in-law Christina Contelmo. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Christopher, her husband Thomas, and her sister Cornelia Crist. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Charlotte on Thursday January 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Charlotte's name to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
