Obituary of Ricardo C. Leggio

Ricardo C. Leggio, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 65. Son of the late Carmelo and Lena Russell Leggio, he was born April 4, 1952 in Suffern, New York. He married the former Andrea Sparks in 1987. Mrs. Leggio survives at home. Rick worked as an ironworker with Local 417 in Newburgh. He was a member of the Nassau Sportsman Association and was involved with WCA. He loved watching the Yankees, and enjoyed fishing and shooting. He was known for his cooking, especially his special recipes for spaghetti and meatballs and pizza. A true DIY guy, he enjoyed fixing things. He was not afraid to share his opinion with people and was also known for his ability to make people laugh. He will be truly missed. Survivors include his wife, Andrea Leggio at home in Wappingers Falls; his sons, Scott Leggio and his wife, Amy of Tennessee, Aaron Leggio of Poughkeepsie and Cory Leggio of Wappingers Falls; his siblings, Susan Razo of Texas, Rocky Leggio of Nassau, Pennie Sherman of Westerlo, Carmelita Longobardo of Pine Bush and Christopher Leggio of Carmel; his grandchildren, Seth, Hailey, Kelsey and Layna; his sisters-in-law, Melanie Hardin and Judi Sparks; niece Kylie as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his son, Bobby Leggio and his siblings, Morrell, Richard, Terryanne, Salvatore, and Sandra. Family will receive their friends on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
