Jeff and Family - I just heard of Roe's passing and am so sorry for all your family. Your sister Cheryl was a dear friend of mine and my husband Tom's for so many years. I remember so many fun times with Cheryl at your parents' house and with all the Woessners. Roe was such a special lady! I was one of the South Fowlerhouse Road kids - Lucille Cacio.
Prayers and happy memories to you all - Lucille Holohan

Jeff and Family, on behalf of the Quinn family we were so sad to hear Mrs. Reis had passed. I imagine she and my mom are doing a lot of catching up now. Theirs was a true friendship lasting many decades and I myself have so many wonderful memories of the Reis/Quinn/Woessner times. Your mom served as a substitute mom to me on more than one occasion and we loved sharing Christmas cards. Wishing you peace, strength and great memories to help you through this sad time.

I was a second grade student of Mrs. Reis' in the early 70's and to this day she holds a place in my heart as my all-time favorite teacher. We continued a relationship for many years afterwards and remembered her fondly every Christmas with the delivery of the candy my mother made each holiday season. She was truly a special woman and I was blessed to have her as a part of my life.

Our mothers were good friends and we became good friends. Our mothers were always telling us we had to "dress up" to look nice. All through high school they'd say, "You should dress up! Look nice!"
We got through college and into our first jobs, and Rosie was upset because she had to dress up for work and I could wear sneakers because I was a gym teacher!

My daughter Karen had the good fortune to have Roe as her 2nd Grade teacher at Fishkill Plains many years ago. She was so kind and caring and the two of them became friends. That was the year that I began to make hard candy and each year after that Karen would take a jar to her favorite teacher. This continued until Karen graduated from John Jay (1984). I recently was able to reconnect with Roe and she still remembered Karen and had such kind words to say about her. Your Mom was an excellent teacher and a very kind person My deepest sympathies to your family. Sue Shultis

Mrs Reis coined the phrase "husband school", which i immediately connected to and used in my daily married life. RIP and fond memories of our crafting days in Hughsonville. Memories of St.Mary's. This woman.....a role model.
Tommy's teacher who noted his big feet!
