Obituary of Katherine Stokas

Katherine "Kathy" Stokas entered into rest on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 58. Katherine was born in Bronxville, New York to MaryAnn Darling Stokas and the late John Stokas on November 25, 1959. She graduated from Lincoln High School. She married Stanley Dyksinski on September 15, 1989 in Westchester County. Katherine was a loving mother and grandmother to her three grandchildren. For several years, Katherine babysat for children in her home. Katherine is survived by her husband Stanley Dyksinski; her daughter Elizabeth Gonzalez and son in law Joel Gonzalez; son Brian Dyksinski; grandchildren Luis Stokas, Alexandra Gonzalez, and Sophia Gonzalez; her sister Donna Giancotti; brothers Alex and Chris Stokas; her mother MaryAnn Stokas; and her nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Wappingers Rural Cemetery, West Main Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow.
