Obituary of Bessie M. Losee

Bessie M. Losee Bessie M. Losee of the Town of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Friday, November 4, 2005 at home. She was 80. Daughter of the late Frank and Ruby Kateley Hubbard she was born on March 3, 1925 in North Adams, Massachusetts. She was married to her loving husband Homer E. Losee for many wonderful years; Mr. Losee survives at home. Bessie worked as a mental health aide for Dutchess County Mental Health Association until her retirement. She was also involved in many local societies such as Hyde Park Seniors, Town of Poughkeepsie Seniors, Unionvale Senior Citizens and Poughkeepsie Red Hatters. Bessie was also an avid parishioner of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls. In addition to his husband Homer, Bessie is survived by her son, Keith Martin and his wife, Diane of California; her daughter, Carol McCurdy and her husband, Kevin of Poughkeepsie; her brother, Edwin Hubbard of Massachusetts; and her grandchildren, Tara Martin, Eli Martin, Rebecca Martin and Tyler McCurdy. She is predeceased by her son, Gary Martin who passed in 1991. Family will receive their friends on Monday, November 7, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8 at 11 a.m. at Zion Episcopal Church, Satterlee Place in Wappingers Falls. Cremation will follow. Donations may be made in Bessie's name to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
