Obituary of James L. Callahan

James L. Callahan James L. Callahan, a resident of Fishkill, entered into rest Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 64. Son of the late James L. and Madeline T. Rau Callahan, he was born October 31, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Callahan was a member of the United States Air Force in the 1960's and later served for the National Guard. Jim was a Vice President and Financial Analyst with Citibank in Manhattan and was later a Real Estate Agent with Exit Drake Realty in Wappingers Falls. He was also a member of the Masons in Croton. On July 17, 1965, he married the former Charlotte Shapiro in Merrick, Long Island. Mrs. Callahan survives at home. In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Finnigan and her husband, Ian of Hyde Park and Denise Benedetto and her husband, Vincent of Wappingers Falls; his brothers, Robert Callahan of California and Brian Callahan and his wife, Vickie of Oswego; his grandchildren, Thomas, Dawn, Peter, Gabrielle and Lindsay; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive their friends on Friday, March 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25 at 12 noon at the funeral home.
