I only met "dad" a few times - but I feel like I know him through you; as a good humored and caring individual. No words can express how much your JDRF family is hurting now - knowing that you have suffered the loss of your dad. Dear Kristin,
I am so sorry that we now have this sad truth in common. I had hoped your experience would evolve much differently.
You said many practical and comforting things to me over the past year or so. I know you are looking at this the best way possible, you have such a healthy perspective on life. Surely, that is something you learned from your father who had a wonderful sense of humor. Through you and your sister, his spirit continues. When he made jokes after receiving bad news, the advice he gave, and the way this has brought your family together, will echo in your memories. And in being remembered for such things, he will live on.
