Obituary of Loretta C. Patton

Loretta C. Patton Loretta C. Patton of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, March 27, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was 71. Daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Hall Grosenbeck, she was born on January 25, 1935 in Poughkeepsie. She married the love of her life, Roy H. Patton on November 7, 1959 at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls; he precedes her in death passing on April 21, 2004. Loretta graduated from Wappingers Central School. She then went on to work as a nurse's aide for various area nursing homes including the former Southern Dutchess Nursing Home in Wappingers Falls, Fishkill Health Related in Beacon and the Craig House in Fishkill. She was also a parishioner of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. Mrs. Patton is survived by her children, Andrew C. Patton of Wappingers Falls, Katherine L. Patton of Poughkeepsie and Robert M. Patton and his wife, Kelly of the Town of Poughkeepsie; her brothers, Albert Grosenbeck of Tennessee and James Grosenbeck and his wife, Pat of New Hampshire; her sisters, Gertrude Nelson of California and Charlotte Pike and her husband, Raymond of Wappingers Falls; grandchildren, Jeremy and Zachary Patton; several nieces and nephews; and her dog and dear friend, Penny. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, March 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, March 31 at 12 noon at St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Loretta's name to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.
