Obituary of Sally A. DeMarco

Sally A. DeMarco, a resident of Lagrangeville and formerly a lifelong Beacon resident, entered into rest Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her home. She was 91. Daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth Evans O'Donnell, she was born September 26, 1922 in Beacon. She married Joseph DeMarco on August 4, 1946 at St. Joachim's Church in Beacon. Mr. DeMarco, a former WWII POW and Purple Heart recipient, preceded her in death on November 13, 1982. Prior to her retirement in 1987, Sally worked as an Executive Secretary for Marshall and Sterling, Inc. for forty years. She was a parishioner of St. Joachim's in Beacon and St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook. She was a supporter of Beacon Youth Baseball and an avid Mets fan. She is survived by her sons, Patrick DeMarco and his partner, John Garland of Rock Tavern, New York, Jerry DeMarco and his wife, Debbie of Lagrangeville, New York, and Robert DeMarco and his wife, Elaine of Newburgh, New York; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Vincent and Leighann, Geoffrey, Christine and wife, Tracy and Justin; as well as her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Samantha. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 12 noon on Friday, July 18 at St. Joseph's Church, 15 North Avenue, Millbrook. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
