Edna M. Casillo

Edna M. Casillo, a 29 year Wappingers Falls area resident, entered into rest Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 86.

Daughter of the late Joseph and Harriet Crawford Dunlop, she was born February 15, 1920 in Manhattan. She was a graduate of Hanron High School in New York City.

She married Michael A. Casillo on February 22, 1942 at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church in the Highbridge Section of the Bronx. Together with her husband and family they lived in White Plains for 32 years before moving the Wappingers Falls area. Mr. Casillo preceded her in death May 24, 1989.

Mrs. Casillo was a business manager for the Pix Theatre in White Plains before devoting her time to her family.

She is survived by her son, Michael G. Casillo of Poughkeepsie; her daughter, Jane Murello and her husband, Ben of Belgrade Lakes, Maine; her granddaughter, Deborah Basher and her husband, John of Wappingers Falls; her grandson, Benjamin Murello and his wife, Kimberly of Wappingers Falls; her sisters, Harriet Brown of Monroe, New York and Muriel Fleming of Bardonia, New York; and her great-granddaughter, Karyn Basher.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., Wappingers Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, April 12 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
