Obituary of George H. Harrison

George H. Harrison George H. Harrison of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 73. Son of the late George and Elizabeth Lawson Harrison, he was born on March 11, 1933 in Rhinebeck; he later moved to Red Hook where he was raised. Mr. Harrison served his country in the United States Airforce from 1952-1956; he worked as a photographer for the Airforce and remained an avid photographer throughout his life. He went on to work as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance in Poughkeepsie for 33 years. He also participated in many local organizations acting as Past President of Dutchess County Life Underwriters, a member of Masonic Lodge #671, Masonic War Veterans in Wappingers Falls, Past President for two terms for the East Fishkill Rotary, a member of the Pirate Canoe Club, Past Commander for two years for VFW, Victor Bracone Post and a member of the Poughkeepsie Elks Clubs BPOE. Survivors include his son, Brian David Harrison of Wappingers Falls; his daughter, Linda Sue Harrison and her husband, Robert Corsello of Germantown, MD; his step-sons, Mark Keaveney of Wappingers Falls and Tom Keaveney of East Fishkill; his brother, Charles Harrison; his granddaughter, Julia Sue Harrison; and his cats whom he adored, Betty Boop and Daryl. He is predeceased by his companion, Dolores Keaveney and his sister, Catherine Elizabeth Massina. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 2 at 10 a.m. at New Hackensack Reformed Church, Route 376 in Wappingers Falls. A potluck gathering will be held following the service at George's residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George's name to the East Fishkill Rotary Club, PO Box 1030, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533.
