Obituary of Mary A. Ross

Mary A. Ross Mary A. Ross, a longtime resident of the Village of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Friday, November 17, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. She was 59. Daughter of the late Carmine and Rose Sucato Ross, she was born July 16, 1947 in Poughkeepsie. Mary was a lifetime owner of the Falls Coffee Shop. She was formerly Mayor of the Village of Wappingers Falls from 2001 to 2003. Most recently, Mary was a court clerk of the Village of Wappingers Falls Court. Mary was a member and former director of the Wappingers Falls Business and Professional Association and a member of the Wappingers Falls Democratic Club. Survivors include her twin sister, Rosalie Czerwonka and her husband, Frank of Poughkeepsie; her nephews, Adam and Jordan Czerwonka; her cousins, Antoinette LoGalbo, Tina LoGalbo-Salzer and her husband Kim and family, Jason, Anne and Stella and Breeanne and Josh, Catherine Haslach and her husband, Jerry, Jay Burbridge and his wife, Sherry, Dr. Charles Burbridge and his wife, Patty and Thomas Fumarello and his wife, Judy; as well as numerous other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several aunts and uncles and her cousin, Sheila Fumarello. Family will receive their friends on Monday, November 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 21 at the funeral home. Rev. Edward Hunt will officiate. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to either the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244 or the American Cancer Society, 45 Reade Pleace, Poughkeepsie, NY 125601 or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
