Obituary of Ruth E. Perantoni

Ruthe E. Perantoni Ruth E. Perantoni, a longtime resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 70. Daughter of the late Frederick and Nora Donahue Grant, she was born January 20, 1936 in Brockton, Massachusetts. On July 13, 1963 in Somerville, Massachusetts she married Adolph A. “Tony�? Perantoni. Mr. Perantoni survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Ruth was a graduate of State College of Salem in Salem, Massachusetts where she received her Bachelor of Science in Education. After raising her family she returned to Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie where she graduated with and AAS in Data Processing. Ruth taught school in East Hartford, Connecticut, Summit, New Jersey and at the Army Dependents School in Mannheim, Germany. She then took care of her home and raised her three sons before returning to work at Ethan Allen Corporate Headquarters in Danbury, Connecticut. She retired as a Senior Programmer Analyst in 1997. In addition to her husband of forty three years, Tony Perantoni, she is survived by her three sons, Alan Perantoni of Wappingers Falls, David Perantoni and his wife, Lisa of Wappingers Falls, and Gregory Perantoni and his wife, Rachel of Fenton, Michigan; her brother, William Grant and his wife, Rose of Gilford, New Hampshire; her sisters, Marjorie Cormier and her husband, Maurice of Stoneham, Massachusetts, Barbara Osgood and her husband, Charles of Carver, Massachusetts and Virginia McKenna of Saugus, Massachusetts; her two granddaughters, Caitlyn and Nicole Perantoni of Wappingers Falls and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick J. Grant and his wife, Lillian. Family will receive their friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Wednesday, December 13 at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson St., Fishkill. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Canaan, Connecticut. Memorial donations on Ruth’s behalf may be made to the American Cancer Society, 45 Reade Place.
