Obituary of Maria E. Crawford

Maria E. Crawford Maria E. "Prezioso" Crawford of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Friday, November 4, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 85. Daughter of the late Victor E. and Marguerite Post Prezioso, she was born on March 12, 1920 in Ramapo. Maria completed the nursing program at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. She then went on to work as a nurse for Hudson Haven Care Center in Wappingers Falls for over 35 years. Maria was also a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie. Survivors include her sons, James H. Crawford and his wife, Kathleen of Canton, Ohio and John L. Crawford, Jr. of Vienna, Virginia; her brothers, Eugene Prezioso and his wife, Margareth of Pearl River, Victor Prezioso and his wife, Mary of Pearl River, Ronald Prezioso and his wife, Pearl of Virginia Beach and Fred Prezioso and his wife, Nanci of Tecumsen, Michigan; her sister, Geraldine Watson of Olney, Maryland; grandchildren, James M. Crawford, Kristan J. Crawford and Erica V. Crawford; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Watson and her husband, Larry. Family will receive their friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 7 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Community Mausoleum, Poughkeepsie.
