Obituary of Esther L. Mickle

Esther L. Mickle Esther L. Mickle, a resident of the Town of Wappinger since 1953 and formerly of Saugerties, entered into rest Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Wingate at Ulster, Highland. She was 89. Daughter of the late Wendell and Dora A. Ennis Saile, she was born July 25, 1917 in Saugerties. She was a 1935 graduate of Saugerties High School. On June 25, 1938 at the Lutheran Church in Saugerties, she married Harry A. Mickle. Mr. Mickle preceded her in death on July 3, 2002. Mrs. Mickle was a member of the Methodist Church, Wappingers Falls as well as the IBM Retiree's Club. She was a former member of the IBM Bowling League and enjoyed Bowling at HoeBowl in Wappingers Falls. Survivors include her son, Gary A. Mickle of Wappingers Falls; her daughter-in-law, Sumlee Mickle; her sister, Lois M. Morehouse and her husband, Herbert of Hurley; three grandchildren, Lonnie, Stephen and Kimberly Mickle; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Carl F. Mickle on July 18, 1997; a brother, Oliver W. Saile in 1991 and a sister, Doramae Saile in 2005. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Sandra Mantz officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue, Poughkeepsie.
