Obituary of Kathleen A. Burt

Kathleen A. Burt Kathleen A. Burt of the Town of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Monday, June 18, 2007 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 58. Daughter of the late John F. and Colleen B. Womer Lynch, she was born on January 13, 1949 in Albany. She married the love of her life, David W. Burt on December 11, 1971 at St. Lucy's Church in Altamont; Mr. Burt survives at home. Kathleen worked as a nurse for many years, most recently for Ketcham High School in Wappingers Falls. She was also a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Kathleen enjoyed her monthly dinners out with her dining companions of more than 20 years; these ladies were very important in her life. She was an amazing wife, mother and friend who was loved and treasured by so many people. In addition to her loving husband, David, she is survived by her daughters, Maureen T. Burt of Newburgh and Lindsay A. Burt of Poughkeepsie; her step-mother, Joyce Lynch of New Orleans; several cousins; many nieces and nephews; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is predeceased by her son, David Jr. who passed in November of 1972. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, June 21 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, June 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
