Obituary of Pasquale J. Fortunato

Pasquale J. Fortunato Pasquale Fortunato traveled to meet his family in heaven. He passed away August 31, 2007 with his family by his side. Pasquale was a wonderful, caring and generous husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend to many people. Son of the late Joseph and Clara Masi Fortunato, he was born April 7, 1918 in Greenwich Village. He married the former Antoinette Belvedere on October 12, 1941 in St. Philip Neri Church in the Bronx. Mrs. Fortunato survives at home in Wappingers Falls. He proudly served his country during World War II as a First Lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers where he was stationed in Alaska. Pasquale was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. He was also an avid Yankees fan since 1928. In addition to his wife of sixty-five years, Antoinette Fortunato, he is survived by his children, Roberta Grady of Danbury, Connecticut, Christine Sena of Wappingers Falls and Paul Fortunato of Wappingers Falls; his brother, Vincent Fortunato of Yonkers; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Michael Fortunato and his sister, Judith Foscaldi. Family will receive their friends on Monday, September 3, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Tuesday, September 4 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill.
