Obituary of Rachel A. Fischetti
Rachel "Rae" Fischetti
Rachel "Rae" Fischetti, a loving spouse, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into rest, Tuesday, September 25, 2007 after long illness.
Born on July 12, 1930 in Altona, New York, she was the daughter Medor and Lillian Rabideau. Her brothers include, Jay, now deceased, Darryl, Clyde, Alvin and Leroy.
She married Robert Fischetti in August of 1950 and moved to Long Island for ten years. They then moved to Wappingers Falls. She spent a large portion of her life teaching, a profession she loved. She had a love for family, travel, crafts and beautiful gardens. Her gardens became a sanctuary for birds and butterflies.
She has touched the lives of many people, with her love, compassion and charity. She was loved by everyone.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Robin Hauptman and her husband, Bill, Bruce Fischetti, Robert Fischetti, Jr., Kevin Fischetti and his wife, Felicia and Kimberly Diamond; her fourteen grandchildren, Christopher Famelette, Will Hauptman, Andrew Hauptman, Alexis Berry, Rachel Fischetti, Kristen Fischetti, Sandra Ricketts, Jennifer Fischetti, Robert Fischetti, III, Brock Fischetti, Nicole Stabell, Joseph Fischetti, Harry Diamond, and Jessie Diamond; and her great-grandchildren, Julia Shackelford, Damean Tapley, Briana and Natalie Rickets and Colin Berry.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Fischetti.
Family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Orthodox Church, 1500 Route 376, Wappingers Falls with Fr. Alex Vinogradov officiating.
Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 33 Main Ave Marret View, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT, 06851-1543.
