Obituary of Lorna R. Brady

Lorna R. Brady Lorna R. Brady, a 14 year resident of the Town of Wappinger and previously of Dover Plains, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill. She was 83. Born May 25, 1924 in Isleworth, England, she was the daughter of Leonard and Lillian Carney. On December 26, 1944 in England, Lorna married Vincent O. Brady, an American career serviceman to whom she was happily married for 57 years until his death in 2002. She proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1973. Lorna and Vincent had two children, Janet L. Whittemore of Wappingers Falls, and Vincent L. Brady of Boston, the latter whom Lorna donated a kidney to in 1970, but who predeceased her in 1985. Other survivors include son-in-law Norman Whittemore of Wappingers Falls, grandson, Mick Whittemore and his wife, Lisa of Clifton Park and great granddaughter, Brianna. Lorna will always be remembered as a kind and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Lorna was a member of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She enjoyed homemaking, cooking, knitting and playing cards. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill for the loving care Lorna received while she was there.
