Obituary of Bridget M. Gannon

Bridget M. Gannon Bridget M. Gannon, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1971 and formerly of the Bronx, entered into rest, Friday November 16, 2007 at Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 83. Daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Lennon Reynolds, she was born June 4, 1924 in the Bronx. She graduated from Cathedral High School. On January 19, 1946 she married Donald A. Gannon in St. Jerome's Church in the Bronx. Mr. Gannon preceded her in death on April 22, 1998. Prior to her retirement, Bridget worked for the Water Department in the Village of Wappingers Falls. She had also worked as an examiner for Dutchess County Department of Social Services, as a dispatcher for the Wappingers Falls Police Department and for the FBI as a cryptographer. She was a member of the Wappingers Democratic Club, the William T. Garner Engine Company Ladies Auxiliary and a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls where she was a former member of the Catholic Daughters. Survivors include her sons, William T. Gannon and his wife, Eileen of Wappingers Falls and Thomas Gannon and his companion, Marie VanVoorhis of Poughkeepsie; her daughter, Bridget Gannon-Tyliszczak of Wappingers Falls; her sisters, Celia Reynolds and Helen Fitzmaurice both of White Plains and Patricia O'Rourke and her husband, Thomas of Connecticut; her brother, Patrick T. Reynolds of Naugatuck, Connecticut; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several niece and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Loretta Gannon; her son, Donald Gannon and his wife, Linda; her sister Rose McCabe and her granddaughter, Christine. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Monday, November 19 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bridget's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
