Obituary of Edith E. DiDomizio

Edith E. DiDomizio, a lifelong Beacon resident and resident of Florida, entered into rest Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Melbourne, Florida. She was 96. Daughter of the late Joseph J. and Anna Houghtalin Morse, she was born March 12, 1917 in Beacon. She attended Beacon High School. On May 22, 1937 in Beacon, she married Francis A. DiDomizio. Mr. DiDomizio preceded her in death on June 24, 1991. Together with her husband, Fran, she enjoyed traveling. She was a life member of the American Ex POW National Chapter. She is survived by her nieces, Evelyn Kinder of Washington, Priscilla Morse of California, and Elizabeth "Betty" Morse of Beacon; her nephew, William Morse of Beacon; her cousin, Shirley Morse Austin of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews on Fran's side of the family; several great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as numerous friends in New York and Florida. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Adeline Bordmann, and Mary Morse, and brothers, Joseph Morse, and Ralph Morse. Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Edith's name to the Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 54, Beacon, NY 12508, the Walter Hoving Home, PO Box 194, Garrison, NY 10524 or the Hudson Valley Chapter, American Ex-POW, 1739 Horton Road, Mohegan Lake, NY 10547.
