Phyllis Dohrenwend
Phyllis Dohrenwend of Fishkill entered into rest Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 69.
Daughter of the late Harry and Irene Fishman London, she was born on March 3, 1938 in New York City. She married the love of her life, John "Jack" F. Dohrenwend on February 15, 1958 at St. Bartholomew's Church in Elmhurst; he precedes her in death, passing on December 5, 2003.
Mrs. Dohrenwend formerly worked in the cafeteria of St. Pius XII School in Chester. She loved cooking and baking, especially making candy. She liked watching old movies, but most of all, loved spending time with her family, especially her loving grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Dohrenwend and his wife, Heidi of Wappingers Falls, David Dohrenwend and his fianc�e, Kelly of Fishkill, Adam Dohrenwend of Woodridge, and Harry Dohrenwend of Fishkill; grandchildren, Nicole, Mindy, Jamie, Hope and Adam, Jr.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, Jack, she is predeceased by her sister, Dolores Reitner.
Family will receive their friends on Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Phyllis' name to National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136.
