Obituary of Lucia F. Santora

Lucia F. Santora, a resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of the Bronx, entered into rest Monday, September 8, 2014 at her home. She was 82. Daughter of the late Stephano and Joanna Frigerio, she was born January 11, 1932 in Zurich, Switzerland. Lucia moved to the United States and started work as an Au Pair. She married Michael E. Santora who preceded her in death on March 15, 2006. Lucia worked for the New York City Department of Education retiring as a secretary. She also worked for Avon, having several salesladies under her. While living in New York City she was active in politics; helping with several campaigns. Together with her husband, she enjoyed traveling. When she moved to Wappingers Falls, she became a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her close friends. She is survived by her son, Steven Santora of Wappingers Falls; her grandsons, Steven Santora, II and Michael Santora; her cousin, Sandro Prati; several nieces, nephews and close friends. Family will receive friends on Thursday September 11, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 12 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
