Obituary of Steve P. Rosati

Steve Rosati, Sr. Steve Rosati, Sr. of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 61. Son of the late Stephen P. and Erminia Cuomo Rosati, he was born on November 30, 1946 in the Bronx. He married the love of his life, Sherry Islip on January 13, 1983 in Fishkill; Mrs. Rosati survives at home in Poughkeepsie. Steve worked as Dutchess County Parks manager for many years until his retirement in 2003. In his spare time, he loved fishing and playing cards. He also loved to work with his hands, building various things. Steve was an unbelievable husband; he and his wife were inseparable. He was a true family man, enjoying every moment spent with them. He will be truly missed by his family and his beloved dogs. In addition to his wife, Sherry, he is survived by his sons, Steve Rosati, Jr. of Hopewell Junction, and Joseph Rosati of Poughkeepsie; daughters, Maria Guilbault and her husband, William of Poughkeepsie, Kimberly Rosati of Poughkeepsie, and Caroline Preuss and her husband, Brett of Hyde Park; and one grandchild, Elizabeth Mackey. Family will receive their friends on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Church, Route 82 in Hopewell Junction. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Community Mausoleum, Poughkeepsie.
