Obituary of Rosario V. Defilippi

Rosario Defilippi Rosario Defilippi, a twenty year resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Elant at Fishkill. She was 86. Daughter of the late Reynaldo and Pastora Soriano Varas, she was born on January 27, 1922 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Rosario worked as a secretary in Ecuador for many years. She was married to Ernesto Defilippi; Mr. Defilippi precedes her in death, passing in 1989. After her husband's death, Mrs. Defilippi decided to make the United States her permanent home. She enjoyed her time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her family will miss her very much. Survivors include her daughter, Louisa Astudillo and her husband, Federico of Wappingers Falls; grandchildren, David Astudillo of Dallas, TX, Ruth Astudillo-Williamson and her husband, Bruce Williamson of Seattle, WA, and Judy Sears and her husband, Ron of Poughkeepsie; and her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jarrett, Maranda and Aidan. Family will receive their friends on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
