To all the Begors, I was so saddened to learn of the death of your father. He was so special in all of our growing up years together, always making me feel so welcomed. Janice and I were quite a duo, enjoying our youth fellowship and tennis friends - oh how the years have gone by but with so many cherished memories. My love and friendship go out to you all, and my very best to Orill who I think will remember me. You all are the greatest family. Much love, Bonnie

Dear Leslie, Janice and family,
I was saddened to hear of your fathers passing away, particularly since I had spoken with him only about a month or so ago.
Even though we haven't spoken or seen each other in about, what, 43 years or so, I still remember three of the nicest people I have ever met - Leslie, Janice, and your friend Bonnie.
My love and prayers to all of your family.
Sincerely,
Tom Leonard - from California

Dear Begors--how shocked I was to hear of your Dad's passing and so soon after ours. I couldn't help but wonder if somehow they had planned it that way! I know your sorrow must be great but even as you grieve, know that we have wonderful memories of our families hanging out together. I'll never forget the time in Assateague when we were eating our first blue crabs from the bay. Something didn't quite taste right, but we went on eating them until your Dad came in and said, "oh you're eating the gills!" I'm chuckling even now as I remember how funny that was. Your Dad was a great guy and a great friend to our family. We'll never forget him. Peace and love to you all. Kacky
PS I am now a huge fan of the blue crab!

To the Begors- I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, but I hope it brings some comfort to think that one of his best friends is up there with him- my dad. THey were both such soft spoken, quiet men. Leading us all with their wonderful example. I have such happy memories of our families together, and so enjoyed going over to the Begor's. Your dad was always working on something fascinating and beautiful- whether it was furniture or some stones he was tumbling into jewelry. He was always patient and kind enough to show us kids what he was working on. He and all of you are definitely part of what shaped the Chantry's into who we are today. My prayers are with you... Jennie

Janice, your email about your dad's passing brought back so many memories. It was always an adventure to ride our bikes over to your house because you never knew what you might find your dad working on in the garage. Our families were always so close when we were growing up: camping together at Roger's Rock, Bonnie, you and then Leslie babysitting us, and your dad getting a motorcycle so he could join us when we went trail riding. I still have the rock grinder he gave me for my son. Vern was a wonderful man who had much to do with who we are. I'm sure he and my dad are even now relaxing around a campfire, smiling over the days events, and listening to the night. My love and prayers to all of you. Dave Chantry

It has been many years since I last spoke with Vern, but, there are many things that I cherish about him. He has a special place in my heart. I remember the first time I met him, what a very accepting man. His stories he would share with me about the Adirodacks, his fishing trips, and about life were all with good intentions. He did it in a way of sincerity, to teach, with honesty, and I always felt like he was a Grand-Dad. He was always interested how you felt. I found that amazing about him. I think of him often when I go to the woods. I hope to share these stories with him again someday.
Dear Orril, Barb, Bonnie, Jeff, Janice, Leslie and Susan. Thank you for sharing your Dad with me. I will cherish his memories forever. I hope God comforts you all.
Peace
Scott

Oh my, I was so sad to hear of your dad's passing when mom forwarded the e-mail from Janice; and so soon after our dad's. They are together and sharing laughs about Lake George vacations. Though I was too young to remember, I loved watching all the 8mm "home" movies and hearing all the great stories of our family's shared vacations. When I was older, I remember riding my bike over to your parent's home to take care of the dog (and cat, I think). As I sit here and look at your dad's picture, all the memories of his smile and voice come flooding back. I know the pain in your hearts and the loss. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you. Vern was a very special neighbor to us--we will remember the days chatting with him on his porch about the Adirondacks. He also spent many hours entertaining my sons with his woodworking and other hobbies and talents when they were youngsters--sharing his Werther's candies with them.
Wishing peace to the Begor family..

Janice,
I was saddened to read your email to mom about your dear Dad. Once I saw his picture the distant memories seemed not as far away, because I was so little. I dearly loved the stories about you and your family, and I always loved looking at the picture of all of us piled high in his gorgeous car. I know your father was a great man, and a beloved father. I like to think he and Dad are sharing a laugh or two together.
Fondly,
Priscilla (Chantry) Fitzpatrick
