Dear Joel,
I did not get to know Valentina for long, but had the pleasure of having her give my daughter Katie violin lessons for a brief while. Katie enjoyed these lessons thoroughly. I also appreciated that Valentina wasn't a stickler for the clock, but taught with compasssion and patience until she felt the lesson was complete.
I'm so sorry for your loss and ask the Lord to Bless you at this time.
Sincerely,
Dean Aulogia

I gravelly will miss Valechka! She was my bride made on my wedding. Every single year she was sending me a greeting card on our wedding day and on Easter. She is the one who help me in foreign country and connect with wonderful orchestras, open the door to my new home USA, far away from Russia. She shared with me same faith and I always will pray that God will rest her soul in Heaven.
My deepest condolences go to all her beloved family.

Dear Val, I will miss your wonderful playing, attention to accuracy and detail, and professionalism in the Springfield Symphony viola section. I will remember our dinners between rehearsals at Nadim's aka Café Lebanon that you organized, especially the one on your last birthday, October 4, 2013. You accepted your illness with such grace and dignity. May you rest in peace.....

While the majority of us hacked away at stringed instruments in junior and senior high school, there was our Concert Mistress, Val. Her musicality was something to which we all aspired, and to varying degrees were able to approach, but never equal. You would think that someone so heads and shoulders above everyone else in the orchestra would be a prima donna; with Val, nothing ever could be further from the truth. Alas, we fell out of contact after high school, but her life in music is precisely what I would have expected of her; likewise, her thorough grace as a person. Val exemplifies the sort of loss we have had far too many of in 2014.

Val was one of my first and closest friends when I moved to Spring Valley. She was the orchestra concermistress and I was principal violist. We traveled for competitions and formed a quartet. We spent time with each other's families. We built a friendship on music and academics and reconnected several years ago. I will miss her dearly.

Val! My heart is so heavy and darkened by the sadness of your departure. As your stand partner in SSO for more than two decades, we have shared so much music, so many laughs, frustrations, stories, dinners and dreams. I will miss you. You lived your life with so much passion for your work, your travels, music and marriage. Your dedication as a violist and your absolutely accurate performances were always inspiring! And your awesome pizzicato!
You fought your illness with such courage and dignity, never complaining and continuing to think of others, mainly Joel and your parents and sisters.
Thank you for being a friend Val, and may peace be yours.

I will sincerely miss Val and her amazing viola playing. Her voice in the Springfileld Symphony Orchestra will be missed so much in our viola section. Val had the best smile. Her strength as a person was unmatched as she fought the illness that she unfortunately had to battle. She was always so positive about life, and spoke so much of her wonderful husband, Joel. Her accuracy in the orchestra amazed so many of us. My heart goes out to her family and all of her friends. She touched so many lives with her wit and her music. I am so lucky to have known her.

We were so saddened to learn of Val's passing. She was a wonderful, funny, immensely talented and courageous woman, and we will miss her terribly, both on a personal and professional level. Our Kairos Bach cantatas just won't be the same without her beautiful and sensitive playing. Much love to Joel and her family.

I will miss Val's smile as we begin our new season at the symphony. We would often chat in the green room and she always seemed to be in a good mood. Most of us had no idea what she was going through. It is a great loss both in terms of her as a player in the orchestra, but also as a friend and colleague. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. Her legacy of kindness will live on.

Val, the years that you, me, Andy and Tony were the "four muskateers" were some of the happiest times of my life. You know how I felt about you and I knew how you felt about me. You were a dear friend and companion and some of the light has gone from this earth knowing that you're gone and that you've made music for the last time. Rest in peace and know you'll be forever living in my memory.

Valentina , what an honor to know your kindness as we watched our daughter"s happy growth under your guidance. Valentina told us when we first met, when she was a young student people helped her, that she lived to continue in this fashion to guide and help any that had a love of Viola. With great fondness we thank Valentina.
