Obituary of Margaret T. McCormick

Margaret T. McCormick Margaret T. McCormick of Wappingers Falls formerly of the Bronx entered into rest Saturday, January 10, 2009. She was 86. Daughter of the late Daniel Mitchell and Rose Hughes, she was born on April 27, 1922 in the Bronx, NY. She married the love of her life, Edward V. McCormick on June 9, 1945 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Bronx, NY. He precedes her in death, passing on August 12, 1988. Before her marriage, Mrs. McCormick worked as a secretary at the Con Edison Union Office in New York City. After that, she took on the role of homemaker raising her four children. In the 1970's, she worked as a cafeteria assistant at Saint Barnabas High School in the Bronx. During the 1980's, she worked at Trans Audit in Wappingers Falls, and was the Secretary for the Town of Wappingers Environmental Management Council. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. She is survived by her four children, Rosemarie Perillo and her husband John of Wappingers Falls, Kevin McCormick and his wife Martine of Harrington Park, NJ, Edward McCormick and his wife Mary of Pearl River, NY, and Denise Zungoli and her husband Sean of Park Ridge, NJ, eight grandchildren, Suzanne, Mary, John, Patricia, Nathalie, Nicole, Brian, and Caitlin, and her four great grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa, Jack, and Colm. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel Mitchell, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Gross, and her brother Raymond Mitchell. Family will receive their friends on Monday January 12, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM on Tuesday January 13, 2009 at St. Mary's Church Clinton St., Wappingers Falls, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls. In lieu of flowers contributions in Margaret's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
