Obituary of Elizabeth S. Jamieson

Elizabeth "Shirley" Jamieson Elizabeth "Shirley" Jamieson, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 1960 and formerly of Newburgh, entered into rest Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 82. Daughter of the late Norman and Helen Houghtaling Snow, she was born September 16, 1926 in Poughkeepsie. She married Samuel Carl Jamieson on October 14, 1945 in Newburgh. Mr. Jamieson preceded her in death March 19, 1997. Mrs. Jamieson was a member of the Hughsonville Presbyterian Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hughsonville Fire Company and the Phiffinella Club of Newburgh. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Rydell and her husband, Jack of Newburgh and Patricia Kenyon and her husband, Theodore of Wappingers Falls; her two grandchildren, Cheri Rydell and her fianc�, Wolfe Wyder of Newburgh and Michael Rydell and his wife, Jennifer of Wallkill; her three great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Lila and Ella Rydell all of Wallkill and four nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Norman Snow. Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 23 at the funeral home with Pastor Lindsay Borden officiating. Memorial donations on Shirley's behalf may be made to the Hughsonville Fire Company, PO Box 545, Hughsonville, New York 12537.
