Obituary of Warren E. Kirk

Warren E. Kirk Warren E. Kirk, a resident of the Town of Newburgh and former resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his home. He was 63. Son of the late Kenneth and Vienna Hendrickson Kirk, he was born December 6, 1945 in the Bronx. On June 1, 1976 he married the former Concetta "Tina" Blancato at Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx. Mrs. Kirk survives at home in Newburgh. Warren proudly served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged March 13, 1970. He was a motor vehicle operator for the United States Postal Service in Manhattan prior to his retirement in 2001. Warren was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. He loved working on cars as was a real "Mr. Fix-It." Warren enjoyed music especially from the 1950's. He also liked to take long walks and stop to talk to people he met along the way. He will be missed by his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Tina Kirk, he is survived by his three sons, Christian Kirk and his wife, Becky of Fort Collins, Colorado, David Kirk and his wife, Chancey of San Diego, California and Joseph Kirk and his girlfriend, Krista Esposito of Poughkeepsie; his brother, Eugene Kirk of New Hampshire; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Kirk, Jr. and sister Dolores Vega. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 16 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
