Josephine Sella
Josephine Sella, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Monday, March 2, 2009 at Elant at Wappingers. She was 96.
Daughter of the late Gaetano "Thomas" and Antoinette DiDomizio Masciola, she was born August 8, 1912 in Marlboro, New York. On June 20, 1948, she married R. Walter Sella at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. Mr. Sella preceded her in death on August 13, 1993.
Josephine was Co-Owner of Falls Liquor Store on Route 9, Wappingers Falls until her retirement in 1975. She was a charter member of the Women's Auxillary of the Croft Corners Fire Department and was a member of the Mount Carmel Society of Wappingers. Josephine was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls.
She is survived by her son, Ronald W. Sella and his wife, Linda of Hopewell Junction; her two grandchildren, Julie Sella and R.W. Sella and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Julia Masciola and Mary Paino and brothers, Dominic Marshall and Raymond "Roe" Marshall.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 6 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
Memorial donations on Josephine's behalf may be made to Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
