Obituary of Sandra M. Moschetto

Sandra M. Moschetto Sandra M. Moschetto of Poughkeepsie entered into rest March 9, 2009 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 86. Daughter of the late Nicholas and Carmella Cappello, she was born on December 4, 1922 in Beacon. She married the love of her life, Anthony F. Moschetto on April 25, 1948 at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh; he precedes her in death, passing on December 12, 1986. Sandra worked as a manager for IBM in Poughkeepsie for over 30 years, until her retirement. She also belonged to the IBM Country Club. In her spare time, she worked hard for the Democrats during election time; she was especially devoted to the campaign for President Bill Clinton. Sandra had many loves; she loved cooking, loved animals and loved life. She always held a special place in her heart for her dogs Major, Fluffy, Corky and especially George, who will be interred with her by her side. Sandra was loved by many friends; she was an open-hearted, warm and loving woman with a wonderful personality, always with a smile; she was beautiful on both the inside and out. Survivors include her son, Salvatore A. Moschetto and his wife, Galina; several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews; and a very close family friend, David Plumb. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sandra's neighborhood who loved and cared for her, especially Eli and Sylvia, and Leona Mason. Visitation will be private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sandra's name to the Arlington Fire District, 11 Burnett Blvd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
