Obituary of Ruth M. Fahr

Ruth Fahr Ruth Fahr, a long time resident of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Friday, April 24, 2009 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation in Highland. She was 89. Daughter of the late Adolf and Mary Schoseck Schmidt, she was born on June 20, 1919 in Hamburg, New York. Ruth worked as a librarian for Gannett Newspapers in Poughkeepsie for 34 years until her retirement. Survivors include her brother, James Schmidt of Wappingers Falls; and two nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Junction. Arrangements are under the direction of Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
