James C. Mahoney
James C. Mahoney, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Saturday, April 25, 2009 at his home. He was 69.
Son of the late Charles J., Jr. and Marion Straube Mahoney, he was born May 28, 1939 in Tarrytown, New York. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on September 17, 1963. Prior to his retirement in 2002, Jim was a tool maker with Dorsey Gauge, Poughkeepsie. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls.
On November 27, 1999 he married the former Janina Pudelko at St. Joseph's Church, Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Mahoney survives at home.
In addition to his beloved wife, Jim is survived by his brothers, John Mahoney and his wife, Donna of New Port Richey, Florida, Charles Mahoney, III and his wife, Grace of Athens, New York, and Harold Mahoney and his wife, Nancy of New Hamburg; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as family in Poland. Jim is also survived by his german shepherd, Ajax and his cockatiel, Kubuc.
Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, April 30 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls.
Memorial donations on Jim's behalf may be made to Dutchess Dialysis Center, 2585 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
