Obituary of Virginia R. Mccurdy

Virginia R. McCurdy Virginia R. McCurdy, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, entered into rest Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. Daughter of the late Ernest and Rose Pipa Perrotti, she was born May 20, 1928 in Sharon, Connecticut. On March 20, 1957 in Sharon, Connecticut she married Leslie W. McCurdy. Mr. McCurdy preceded her in death on March 20, 1989. Ginny enjoyed art and had fond memories of working at New York Telephone and Up to Date. Most importantly she treasured the time she spent taking care of her home and family. She is survived by her son, Kevin L. McCurdy and his wife, Carri of Poughkeepsie; her sister, Shirley Santiamo and her husband, John of Poughkeepsie; her grandson, Tyler; two nieces, Gina and Julie; four grand-nephews, Justin, Kevin, Louie and Michael and close family friends, Frank and Maureen Petruccelli. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Carol Hadden. Family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 am on Wednesday, June 24 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie.
