Obituary of Thomas J. Langan

Thomas J. Langan, Sr. Thomas J. Langan of Fishkill entered into rest Monday, August 10, 2009 at home. He was 61. Son of the late Thomas F. and Marie Garon Langan, he was born on August 12, 1947 in Mount Vernon. Mr. Langan served his country in the United States Army. Soon after his honorable discharge in April of 1973, he married the love of his life, Mildred Guglielmo on November 2, 1974 in Croton-on-the-Hudson; Mrs. Langan survives at home in Fishkill. Tom worked as a salesman for Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie for over 15 years. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish; it was his life. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Millie, he is survived by his sons, David J. Galgano of Pasadena, CA, Mark Galgano and his wife, Anneliese of Tarrytown, and Thomas J. Langan, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Wappingers Falls; and his grandchildren, Sam, Mark, Jr., Nicholas, Christina, Thomas John and Jane. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14th at 11 a.m. at The United Methodist Church of Wappingers Falls, East Main Street and Mesier Avenue in Wappingers Falls; Rev. Sandra Mantz will officiate. Military honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Thomas' name to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
