Anne M. Rolando
Anne M. Rolando of the Town of Poughkeepsie, formerly of Yorktown, entered into rest Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. She was 84.
Daughter of the late Giovanni and Laura Rasulo, she was born on December 1, 1924 in New York City. She married the love of her life, Sirphin A. Rolando in 1947 in the Bronx; Mr. Rolando preceded her in death, passing on February 11, 2002.
Mrs. Rolando worked for several years as an administrative assistant for Reader's Digest in Pleasantville. While living in Yorktown she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Societies at St. Patrick's Church, where she was a longtime member. Most importantly, she loved her family; she was very close to them all.
Survivors include her children, Stephen Rolando and his wife, Enicko, of Somers, Barbara Geslain and her husband, William of Poughkeepsie, and Thomas A. Rolando and his wife, Debra of Ellicott City, MD; grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Lauren, Joey and Tommy; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Sirphin, she was predeceased by seven sisters.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Enfield, Connecticut.
Memorial donations may be made in Anne's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
