Obituary of Tenna Jensen

Tenna Jensen Tenna Jensen, of Wappingers Falls, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 23, 2009. She was born in Mamaroneck, New York in 1928 to the late Svend and Anna Fast. Tenna was the beloved wife for sixty-one years of Leif W. Jensen. Leif and Tenna are proud parents of five children, Otto and daughter-in-law Rita of Glendale, Arizona, AnnaMarie of Tampa, Florida, Kurt W. of Sarasota, Florida, Susan of Highland and Mark and daughter-in-law Nancy of Highland. They have twelve grandchildren, Eric, Tenea, Bryant, Brittni, Gregory, Robert, Jared, Krista, Brooke, Matthew, Christopher and Chris, as well as a sister-in-law, Emely Telford of Redbank, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. Community service has always been a big part of Tenna's life. She was active in both the Town of Wappinger and Dutchess County Republican Committee for thirty plus years. She belonged to the Town of Wappinger Women's Republican Federation serving as secretary, vice president and president. Tenna was also Dutchess County Coordinator for the reelection of Hamilton Fish, Jr. for several campaigns. She was a loving and caring supporter of both Wappinger and Highland Community and School Programs. Tenna was a devoted member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie for many years. Tenna has lived her life always caring about others; she was always there to lend support and comfort. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 28 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 55 Wilbur Blvd., Poughkeepsie.
